Brian and Rebecca's delightful adventure began when they first met at a charming brewery nestled in the enchanting woods of Michigan. After Brian bravely navigated a difficult period, including back surgery from a bicycle accident, the couple decided to hit the open road, fueled by a spirit of exploration and the need for financial stability. They worked as camp hosts, experiencing life in a lovely 12-foot motorhome for three transformative years. Their inspiring mantra, "We need to find a place to land," encapsulated their heartfelt pursuit of not just a physical location, but the warmth and comfort of a true home. Ultimately, they found that precious sense of belonging in their cozy 700-square-foot tiny home in Germfask, MI.
Their musical journey took a wonderful turn when they picked up a vintage bass from a local music shop. Brian, an accomplished musician, enjoyed late-night jam sessions at bluegrass festivals, while Rebecca discovered joy and confidence through her new instrument, transforming any initial nerves into a beautiful passion for music.
In just the past two seasons, they have captivated audiences by performing 60 shows in just four months, entertaining the 1.9 million visitors drawn to the breathtaking beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Now, they're excitedly seeking new "places to land," looking to broaden their horizons beyond state lines. Their ultimate dream? To share their heartfelt music with an even larger audience and inspire others with their remarkable journey.
“A Place to Land are two of the most wonderful, gracious, and talented people and entertainers I’ve met. They’ve played several times at my restaurant, and we always look forward to the next time we see them. They expertly cover songs from an increasingly disappearing generation and culture of music, and it’s just so comforting to see two people keep it alive with such passion. Highly recommend for any event.”
